Join us for our annual holiday event with tea ceremonies, martial arts, taiko drums, and more! In addition to the schedule below, you will be able to enjoy a day in the Friendship Garden - so bring a picnic! All proceeds go to the non-profit Friends of Shoseian to continue providing family-friendly, cultural events!
The Festival is free. Tea Ceremonies require reservation, which can be purchased here. We look forward to seeing you in the Friendship Garden!
10:00-10:30am: Opening Koto Performance by Saeko Kujiraoka & Sakura Jimenez
10:30-11:30am: Urasenke Tea Ceremony - 1st Seating by Nakada Shachu
11:30-12:00pm: Katori Shinto Ryu – “Old School” Martial Art Demonstration by Masashi Odate-sensei & students
12:00-12:30pm: Taiko Drum music by DJ “Yui Sensational”
12:30-1:30pm: Urasenke Tea Ceremony - 2nd Seating by Nakada Shachu
1:30-2:00pm: Japanese Music Performance by DJ “Yui Sensational”
2:00-3:00pm: Urasenke Tea Ceremony - 3rd Seating by Nakada Shachu
